The classic metal band Apocalyptica was founded in 1993 and consists of the cello musicians Eicca Toppinen, Paavo LΓΆtjΓΆnen and Perttu Kivilaasko as well as drummer Mikko SirΓ©n. Starting as a Metallica classic tribute band, they have developed a neoclassic metal without any guitars. On the upcoming second album "Inquisition Symphony", there are only a few Metallica covers to be found. The band's approach has evolved. The output contains, apart from those four Metallica covers, pieces by Faith No More, Pantera, and Sepultura. Three of the songs were written by band member Eicca Toppinen.
