by Jürgen Tschamler (16.01.2008) Also on their seventh studio album, the Hamburg-based Power Metal-heroes around bassist, Lars Ratz have stuck to their roots. Over the last eight years, Metalium have become a household name in the European Power Metal-genre. Each of their records has built upon the predecessor and this tradition is set forth on "Incubus - Chapter seven": edgy, technically perfect Power Metal with great vocal passages and a fire proof wall of riffs stamp the ten songs. Henning Basse delivers some superb vocals, no matter if tight mid-tempo hymns or galloping neck killers, this man knows how to sing. A speed shell, like "Never die" radiates the typical Teutonic Metal charms without appearing dated. The same can be said about "Meet your maker"! As a whole, "Incubus - Chapter seven" has all the Power Metal you expect and all the typical Metalium-trademarks. The production is greatly voluminous, too, so why would you hesitate?
