by Benny Ramm (29.03.2007) After the successful predecessor, the signs of the times seemed excellent. But during the recordings of "Holding a wolf by the ears", something completely unexpected happened. On the very day of the beginning of the recordings of the vocal lines, singer and now ex-singer Ben Perri realized that didn't want to make music anymore and split. What a move. Spontaneously, drummer Francis Mark took over the vacant spot and delivered a more than convincing part. In the twelve songs, Mr. Mark perfectly manages the split between clean, lovely vocals on one and heaviest growls on the other side. Consequently you don't miss his predecessor for a single second. Musically, F.A.T.A. settles between the heaviness of Hardcore and the emotions of Emocore. Still, F.A.T.A. have a liking for melodies and variation, consequently you can say that their heaviness is well out-balanced. "Holding a wolf by the ears" was produced by Brian McTernan, who also worked for Hot Water Music, Converge and Snapcase!
