Return of the northern vampire
"Helsinki vampire" is the first-ever solo album from Jyrki 69 (who is mostly known as the frontman of the Finnish goth-rock sensation The 69 Eyes). If I compare it to his previous work with his main band, the songs are less rock oriented (leaning more to dark poprock) and perhaps even less catchy, however the album itself is not bad at all and has a lot of good moments. You get what you expect: his lowpitched voice, the dark and romantic atmosphere...and you can also sing along here and then.
The production sounds fantastic, there's a lot of keyboards of course, yet you can hear every instrument in the mix.
This album is released in a normal jewel case format with lyrics and all the credits inside the booklet. You can buy the LP version as well if you prefer this kind of format. Howver, the layout is kinda too kitschy for my teste.
