    Bastards of Monstrosity

by Jürgen Tschamler (02.10.2008) Johan Lindstrand (ex-The Crown) & Co are back. And pick up their stuff on this third album where they left on its predecessor "Error in evolution". Uncompromising, groovy Thrash with a dash of Death here and there. Die Produktion ist ultrafett und gibt den gewaltigen Riffattacken noch mehr Raum um zu wirken. Apart from some pretty fast stuff like "Cursed by the knife" or "A date with suicide", most of the material is leaning towards hefty mid-tempo. Top: "Death makes it all go away": a brutal incredible guitar barrage - no prisoners here! OMATUQ are by no means sticklers for brutality and toughness, though, and work in some nice and solid melodies which relax the overall impression a bit. "Grim tales" should take the band yet another big step foward. Uncompromising yet catchy is a bit confusing, but an appropriate conclusion this time. The limited digipak version contains a bonus DVD - don’t miss it. .
