by Sonja Angerer (09/03) The opening song "Wie klein die Welt" already catches the listener's full Γ¬ attention and reveals the beginning of a complex story about a child from the streets Γ¬ who finds his way into the other world, the so-called "Grabsteinland" ("The land of Γ¬ tombstones"). Singer Greta uses her voice (which reminds me of Zarah Γ¬ Leander at times) extremely well for sending shivers down your spine you won't easily forget. The broad guitars and the catchy but lofty songs on Γ¬ "Grabsteinland" give reason to comparisons with early Lacrimosa albums. Γ¬ Nevertheless, the piano-intensive "Du hast mir ein Haus erbaut" easily ties in Γ¬ with chansons from the 20s. Moreover, the tracks reveal color and Γ¬ expression, create images, trigger feelings and leave you flushed with Γ¬ mysterious and sinister passion for life.
