by Tim Petric (October 2005) Claudio Sanchez, mastermind or crazy freak? The singer and head of the band seems impossible to judge. Getting to the musical direction of the band, there ain't o black and white. No light or dark. Their music is not based on extremes. It is round and still has edges. Terms like epic and bombast hit the nerve. Punk forms a coalition with Prog. Minute-long solos follow heavy riffs. Sci-Fi Rock that doesn't exist any more, really because it was declared long ago. What leaves the speakers here is huge! The third album meanwhile and he fourth part of the saga around Coheed and Cambria is what leads the concept of the two characters. It remains thrilling. Once the spell had been put on you you can't let go off this music. Comparisons with Fugazi, Led Zeppelin and The Mars Volta are evident. Check out this album and you won't be disappointed. The attention is worth-while and is rewarded. Overwhelming! (Tim Petric - October 2005)
