by Lothar Landt. (29.09.2007) After the great debut album, the Power Metal-quintet now releases another killer. Most of the nine songs have a fast pace so that the rhythm section has to work hard. But the guys manage to add some excellent dynamics to the album. And also in the slower mid-tempo tracks, there are often faster passages providing the adequate variability β as are the breaks. Basis for their heaviness, however, is the powerful guitar work of the guitar duo, Curran Murphy (ex-Annihilator, ex-Nevermore) and Dusty Holt, delivering an impressive performance and letting free a true riff firework a la Machine Head & Co.. Even the absolute neck killer-songs are provided with some melodic guitar solos. My personal highlight is song No. 9., providing the album with a calm closing. And with Greg Wagner, Shatter Messiah have a frontman who refines "God burns like flesh" vocally, too, adding some melodic element to the songs without forgetting the street dirt and the right portion of anger.
