13.Moving on
by Riccardo Manazza (17.10.2007) The master of Horror Metal returns with a new album three years after the great "The puppet master" opus. Again it feels as if time stood still, because "Give me your soul please" combines all trademarks of the King in a great way. He is sincere and when he talks about crawling spiders, dark dungeons and bloody girls you really get shivers down the spine. Majestic, sacral sounds mix with traditional Heavy Metal as it can only be celebrated by King Diamond. The (gooseflesh) feelings can be compared to classics like "Them" and "The eye" and, by the aid of guitarero Andy La Roque, convince with a state-of-the-art performance. The story again has a common thread and immediately puts a spell on you. You are like in another world and go through the album like through a film and feel happy to be surviving it after all. 13 great Horror Metal hymns that you just have to love and that surely will delight all old Mercyful Fate-fans, too!
