For the 30-year anniversary of Forest Enter Exit, Deine Lakaien are releasing a new edition of their classic album, including the EP Mindmachine. The album is available on black and strictly limited silver double vinyl in gatefold; and there’s also a double CD in a digisleeve. The theme of the album hasn’t lost any of its topicality. “Forest Enter Exit is about dreams and reality. Dreams and reality are images that occur in the mind, shaped by the character of the individual. Attempts to escape, such as drugs, mindmachines and virtual worlds, won’t change anything – they’ll just have the opposite effect and speed up the loneliness. The nine songs on Forest Enter Exit journey through the various corners of sublime dreams and human imagination. Excursions into virtual realities end in mundane everyday life, but then you’re whisked off again into glamourous worlds of the past. A very personal audio trip between appearance and presence. In keeping with the thematic diversity and in typical Lakaien fashion, Forest Enter Exit is a fusion of various musical styles. Forest Enter Exit is further proof of the band’s musical independence. Duo Deine Lakaien is made up of Alexander Veljanov on vocals, and Ernst Horn on keyboard and production duty. The two of them work together in Ernst’s studio where they produce everything – from the rough version of a track to the finished master tape.”
