"Fegefeuer" LP by Feuerschwanz

Feuerschwanz presents their upcoming album 'Fegefeuer'. This edition will be released on black Vinyl in a gatefold.

Over the past years, Feuerschwanz has established an outstanding position in the German metal scene and undoubtedly stands as one of the hottest bands in the scene! This status is once again manifested with their brand new studio album 'Fegefeuer', set to be released on July 7, 2023. 'Fegefeuer' is the successor to their enormously successful previous work 'Memento Mori' (2021), which entered the official German album charts at #1 without hesitation. Following the release, the band delivered excellent co-headline sets at some of the biggest and most important festivals, such as the legendary Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze, topped off by an almost completely sold-out Tour. With 'Fegefeuer', Feuerschwanz now provides further proof of their status! And of course, the new album also includes their well-known wink and sense of fun.

On the new album, the band, led by founding member and lead vocalist Hauptmann Feuerschwanz, songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Hodi, as well as Johanna on the violin, combines their medieval-inspired folk metal with Heavy Metal influences. The opener 'SGFRD Dragonslayer' starts off directly as a pure Heavy Metal anthem. Lyric references to the legendary dragon slayer Siegfried merge with heavy riffs and Nordic mythology. On the second track 'Bastard von Asgard', Feuerschwanz is supported by Eluveitie singer Fabienne Erni. The catchy party anthem 'Berzerkermode' invites you to mead and rum at a Viking party. Especially the first three album tracks and the epic 'Highlander' are the best proof of the band's development from comedy rock to metal. Other songs such as the intense title track 'Fegefeuer', the Lord of the Rings battle cry 'Uruk-Hai', and 'Die Horde' go straight to the hearts of long-time fans of the band.

Feuerschwanz remains lyrically true to themselves on 'Fegefeuer', singing about long-forgotten legends, heroic battles, and showcasing their outstanding musical abilities, along with excellent songwriting. The album will be available in various formats. Some of them include the live bonus album 'Live in Wacken 2022', which features a recording of the co-headline show from the Holy Ground. With this new release, Feuerschwanz temporarily pushes their previous achievements to new heights and already stirs up excitement and anticipation for what is to come in the future.
