"Fegefeuer" CD by Feuerschwanz

Feuerschwanz' is launching with the new album 'Fegefeuer'. This edition will be released in a limited mediabook format, including the 'Wacken 2022' concert on a bonus CD.

Over the years, FEUERSCHWANZ has established an outstanding position in the German metal scene and is undoubtedly one of the hottest bands in the scene. This status is once again manifested in their brand new studio album, Fegefeuer, which will be released on July 7, 2023. Fegefeuer is the successor to the hugely successful previous work, Memento Mori (2021), which entered the official German album charts at #1. Immediately following the release, the band delivered excellent co-headline sets at some of the biggest and most important festivals, such as the legendary Wacken Open Air and the Summer Breeze, topped off by a nearly sold-out Tour. With Fegefeuer, FEUERSCHWANZ now provides further evidence of their status! And of course, the familiar tongue-in-cheek humor and fun factor are not neglected on the new album.

On the new album, the band, led by founding member and lead vocalist Hauptmann Feuerschwanz, songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Hodi, as well as Johanna on the violin, combines their medieval-inspired folk metal with Heavy Metal influences. The opener, 'SGFRD Dragonslayer,' starts off as a pure Heavy Metal anthem. Lyrical allusions to the legendary dragon slayer Siegfried combine with heavy riffing and Norse mythology. On the second track, 'Bastard von Asgard,' FEUERSCHWANZ is supported by Eluveitie vocalist Fabienne Erni. The catchy party anthem 'Berzerkermode' invites you to enjoy mead and rum at a Viking party. Especially the first three album tracks, as well as the epic 'Highlander,' are the best evidence of the band's evolution from comedy rock to metal. Other songs, such as the intense title track 'Fegefeuer,' the Lord of the Rings battle cry 'Uruk-Hai,' and 'Die Horde' go straight to the hearts of long-time fans of the band.

On Fegefeuer, FEUERSCHWANZ remain lyrically true, singing about long-forgotten legends and heroic battles, and showcasing their outstanding musical abilities and excellent songwriting. The album will be available in various formats. Some of these will include the live bonus album Live in Wacken 2022, which features a recording of the co-headline show from the Holy Ground. With this new release, FEUERSCHWANZ temporarily takes their previous work to the top and already stirs up excitement and anticipation for what is to come in the future.
