by Markus Eck (04/03) Their last album "Scourge of malice" with mature compositions could Γ¬ convince both fans and critics, their live-shows were not any weaker. Now, Γ¬ the South Tyrolean return with a new album, sovereignly produced again by Γ¬ mix-master Andy Classen in the Stage One-Studios. Consequently powerful and Γ¬ effective in sound, the Black Metal kings turn out to sound like a thrilling Γ¬ blend of '99 Hypocrisy at times of their self-titled debut, early Cradle Of Γ¬ Filth and later Dimmu Borgir. A slight indication of Satyricon can also be Γ¬ heard here and there. The band has obviously given their best for the new Γ¬ songs. "Engraved in black" stands for first class, clearly Death Metal Γ¬ oriented Melodic Black Metal. Vocalist Stefan Fiori stands out with a great Γ¬ growl/screech-mix that is quite unique in this quality. A great cover Γ¬ artwork by Kristian WΓ€hlin, known to many under his former pseudonym Γ¬ Necrolord, rounds off this great release. (Markus Eck - 04/03)
