by Jürgen Tschamler (23.12.2005) Amorphis' musical career is very impressive, and it isn't easy to answer where they have arrived in 2006. Always first in line in their sound is the perect melody that immediately takes hold of you. This aspect is paid a lot of attention to also on βEclipseβ. The album breathes a slightly melancholic mood and huge melody lines. Like βBrother Moonβ with its hit compatible and yet not sell out chorus line. Of the same kind is βSame fleshβ, yet with a more edgy riff. The constant high quality of the song writing is enormous and you wonder how you can best dig into this fascinating groove and this kind of intimate atmosphere. With their new album, Amorphis deliver a splendid groove hammer that impresses with tremendous melody lines and great depth. The new singer, Tomi Joutsen proves to be an enormous improvement. The sextet has never been as homogenous and as thrilling as on βEclipseβ!
