This is classic Thrudvangar - meaning that their new studio album "Durch Blut und Eis" is again a masterpiece of the band's earthy, catchy, dynamic Viking Metal. For this release, the band has come up with a detailed concept story on Eric the Red Thorvaldsson, the famous ancient seafarer, discoverer, and conqueror. A lot of sagas, lore and stories are woven around this famous and fascinating man - and the German band has transferred them into Nordic, heroic Metal sounds. Majestic, atmospheric keyboard parts are the base of the new versatile and multi-faceted compositions. The courageous fighter Thorvaldsson is aptly characterised by vehement guitar attacks and aggressive rhythms - Thrudvangar are able to transform heavy sword thrusts into music.
