Marcel Anders

by Marcel Anders (null) The supergroup from the south returns. Seven years after "Nola", Pepper Keenan (C.O.C.), Phil Anselmo (Pantera), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), Rex Brown (Pantera) and Jimmy Bower (Eye Hate God) again found time to celebrate their passion: heavy, metallic Hardrock with strong influences of Blues, Punk and Thrash. Fierce riffs, an edgy bass and effusive vocals are the trademarks of the 16 songs, heavily driven by alcohol, drugs evil ghosts and pure wisdom of life. Because Down features the big men in Metal. They differentiate from the newcomers by their technical abilities and their stylistic diversity, from their colleagues by the pure will to experiment, from their main bands by a big commercial potential. Because even if Down can be uncompromisingly heavy, they also have their melodic, surprising moments. In "Learn from his mistake", e.g., they lay back for a relaxed ballad, come out with acoustic Blues in "Where I'm going" and convince in "Wars" with first-class Bombast-Rock - with strings, choir and orchestra. Who talks about a Sabbath-clone? Down rules!
