by Markus Eck (20.04.2009) Wolfchant have become really famous within the last years - even beyond the Pagan genre, which is not surprising if you know their classy song material and their great live performances. They could have carried on just like before just to be on the safe side - but the Germans decided in favour of their artistic identity. "Determined damnation" is their new studio album, and it contains some musical changes. The ambitious five deliberately steer clear of pure Pagan Metal: this time, we hear a lot of hefty Thrash and some traditional Teutonic Metal sounds. And there are some other (positive) changes to announce: Lokhi has modified his voice, so you can actually understand what he sings. A novelty: the new tracks are extremely versatile and often performed very fast, Γ la Speed Metal.
