by Patrick Schmidt (null) With their fourth album, "Death Race King", the Swedes The Crown have finally said good bye to Death and Black Metal and uncompromisingly follow the road they have taken with their predecessor, "Hell Is Here". With other words, also on "Death Race King" we are faced with snotty T(h)rash with Hardcore and Rock'n'Roll-attitude, just the vocals and some scattered Blast Beat-drums lets you guess where this quintet used to come from. Nevertheless, and that's the best about this band, they have kept their aggressiveness and wildness. The Crown still have the charms of a mad dog and rock you into the ground with songs, like "Executioner" or the everything destroying "Back From The Grave". Here, riffs are still riffs, the vocals are extremely heavy, the sound super fat, and the drummer deserves an extra praise for his extravagant playing. An album that makes you addicted and lets you forget the everyday's frustration. Great!
