After replacement of Michael Denner by Mike Wead (at that time member of Hexenhaus, Memento Mori), only King Diamond and Hank Sherman are original members. However, "Dead again" released in 1998 doesn't suffer as a result, but combines all Mercyful Fate qualities.

by Matthias Mader (null) The sixth full length album of Mercyful Fate is really competitive. Mike Wead (ex-Candlemass, ex-Memento Mori), is the new guitarist, who has a very similar style to his predecessor and who harmonates great with Hank Sherman. The real great hits of the centenary-albums "Melissa" and "Don't break the oath" are missing, but songs like "Banshee" or the elborated titlesong "Dead again" are shining with good unconventional rhythm-works and great riff-duells! The highlight of this disc is the varied "Sins forever", which starts as a smooth ballad, aggravates and again finishes pretty smooth.
