Article description

Comes on black Vinyl.

In 2020, the year of the Corona pandemic, when the world came to a standstill, five old friends embarked on an old idea that had been floating in the air for a long time - and eventually formed a new band: The Halo Effect. The members of The Halo Effect are masters of their craft, pioneers of the Gothenburg melodic death metal scene. The lead guitarists and melodic death slingers Niclas Engelin and Jesper StrΓΆmblad, the lead singer and lyricist Mikael Stanne, supported by the solid backbone and foundation of bassist Peter Iwers, and his accomplice for over twenty years, the hard-hitting drummer Daniel Svensson.

The members, who had known each other since early childhood in the late 80s, began playing together in various projects in the 90s before forming In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, two truly iconic bands that would later dominate the Gothenburg scene. Both bands were particularly influential forces behind the melodath nickname: The Gothenburg Sound. A sound that resonated far and wide throughout the world and influenced countless metal bands in the 90s and early 2000s. That was also the original idea behind The Halo Effect - to go back to their roots and explore how groundbreaking metal sounded back then, before adding the experience and skills that the members can bring today. The result is an exceptional album and a true masterpiece for melodeath fans, where the echoes of the Gothenburg Sound are evident.
