by Anne-K. Fricke (22.10.2008) Thy Majestie - thatβs classic Italian Power Metal Γ la Rhapsody & Co., influenced also by Helloween and Malmsteen. With "Dawn", the bands presents their fourth, very mature output which is a concept album consisting of three parts. The first, "Exequies of the formal sphere", starts with the impressive "As you fall" - being the opening song, it is of course considerably fast to get your attention. Thy Majestieβs vocalist Dario Cascio does his job pretty good, both axemen wield their weapons skilfully, and new keyboardist Valerio Castorino gets enough time to unfold. Also a plus: the melodious guitar soli intertwined well with the song structures - very striking during the title track, an instrumental, and in some other classy songs, like the fast smasher "To an endless devotion" (Chapter two) or the final "Through heat and fire" which begins with some disharmonious piano sounds. "Dawn" is a versatile gem of the genre, especially because it focuses on the songs.
