Tracks like 'Out of Time,' 'In This Condition,' and 'The Fray' feature fluid arrangements and captivating dynamics shifts, while 'Here and Now' and the cautiously optimistic 'Better Days' remind us that Staind is not unfamiliar with beauty - when it's appropriate, of course. Lyrically, Confessions of the Fallen once again draws from the dark, contemplative corners that Lewis has always incorporated into Staind's songs, yet these 10 songs are as personal as ever.
