by Jürgen Tschamler (06/02) After singer Brian Soulard left Eidolon I actually believed them to be Γ¬ dead since what he and his band did on "Halloween apparition" was finest US-Γ¬ Power Metal. But the band knew what to do and found an expressive and energetic shouter in Pat Mulock. "Coma nation" is an enormous US-Power Metal Γ¬ creation. Ultra fat guitar walls and an extraordinary tempo direct the album Γ¬ into authentic Power Metal with a slight Speed Metal impact. Best example Γ¬ would be "Life of agony" which starts doomish and builds up into an up-tempo Γ¬ piece. "A day of infamy" simply blows you away! The brute "Hunt you down" is Γ¬ another great example for perfect US Power Metal. Despite the omnipresent Γ¬ high level of power the songs are varied and multilayered. You'll soon notice the passion which Eidolon put into this album making "Coma nation" a huge step forward for the band. (JΓΌrgen Tschamler - 06/02)
