"Chaosphere" LP by Meshuggah
Article description
The band Meshuggah, founded in 1987 in UmeΓ₯, Sweden, has been described by Rolling Stone as 'one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands' and enjoys the respect and admiration of fans and musicians alike.
It is impossible to talk about experimental or avant-garde metal without mentioning this truly groundbreaking band: MESHUGGAH mix ultra-complex rhythmic patterns with powerful riffs and aggressive growls, combining death metal, mathcore, thrash, and progressive metal into their unique style. The year 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of one of the band's first milestones: 'Chaosphere'.
Originally released on November 9, 1998, Meshuggah's third studio album showcases how the band tones down some of the thrashier sounds of their earlier releases in favor of a more technical, polyrhythmic, and groove-oriented sound that they will explore on subsequent albums. The album includes songs such as 'New Millennium Cyanide Christ,' 'Corridor of Chameleons,' and 'Neurotica,' which are among the band's most streamed tracks.
To celebrate the album's 25th anniversary, Atomic Fire will release a sonically revised version of the album. The re-release of this masterpiece will be available in hi-def audio (remastered by Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage at Stockholm Mastering) on all streaming platforms, as well as in CD jewel case format (including an 8-page booklet) and in stunning new Vinyl colors (most of which are limited worldwide to under 1500 copies per color, 180g, 2LP in a 5mm sleeve including a 2-sided insert), fulfilling every collector's dream.
