Article description

The band Meshuggah, founded in UmeΓ₯, Sweden in 1987, has been referred to by Rolling Stone as 'one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands' and is respected and admired by fans and musicians alike.

It is impossible to talk about experimental or avant-garde metal without mentioning this truly groundbreaking band: MESHUGGAH blends ultra-complex rhythmic patterns with powerful riffs and aggressive growls, combining death metal, mathcore, thrash, and progressive metal into their unique style.

The year 2023 now marks the 25th anniversary of one of the band's first milestones: 'Chaosphere.' Originally released on November 9, 1998, Meshuggah's third studio album showcases how the band softens some of the more thrash-like sounds of earlier releases in favor of a more technical, polyrhythmic, and groove-oriented sound that they will explore on subsequent albums. The album includes songs such as 'New Millennium Cyanide Christ,' 'Corridor of Chameleons,' and 'Neurotica,' which are among the band's most streamed tracks.

To celebrate the album's twenty-fifth anniversary, Atomic Fire will release an acoustically enhanced version of the album. This reissue of the masterpiece will be available in high-definition audio (remastered by Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage at Stockholm Mastering) on all streaming platforms, as well as in CD jewel case format (including an 8-page booklet) and in stunning new Vinyl colors (most of which are limited to under 1500 copies worldwide, 180 gram, 2LP in a 5 mm sleeve including a 2-sided insert), fulfilling every collector's dream.
