"Catch 33" is not easy to swallow, sounds weird in times and complex, technically breathtaking and endlessly gloomy. All Meshuggah-trademarks can be found on "Catch 33". To be exact, the album consists of only one track of which all ingredients were skilfully added together. Listening to Fredrik Thordendal guitars you enter a cosmos of its own. No other guitarist in the world sounds like Thordendal. And his orchestra is just splendid, lets the breaks come over the listener like hailstones and always moves between genius and madmen. No wonder that Meshuggah are among the most influential band in the world. This ain't no music this is art: expressionistic, unique and completely crazy. Get yourself this trip. It's timeless.
