by Markus Eck (31.01.) Scotts? Yes, but these four guys are but niggardly, especially not with anthemnic melodies and great hooklines. The enormously drinking-friendly horde from Perth describes their storming art as Scottish Pirate Metal. And indeed, the thrilling debut offers an edgy mixture of the bombastic qualities of the early Thyrfing and the big epic tirades of Turisas that should delight all fans of dynamic Battle Metal sounds. By further enhancing their compositions with a huge portion of Power Metal Γ‘ la Running Wild, the songs gain in compatibility for the listeners who don't like it all too heavy. This fact is further helped by the greatly rebel-like and rusty whiskey voice of harbour-bard, Christopher Bowes. By the way, intoxicating fluidly instrumented are also the buccaneer-songs of the breathtakingly playful quartet. Vividly pearling accordion elements refine the sounds of the quartet with joyful passages perfectly fitting the many, great ideas and performances.
