βBrave New Worldβ was composed before the Ed Hunter Tour in Portugal in 1999 and recorded after the tour in autumn 1999 at Guillaume Tell Studios in Paris. Kevin Shirley served as a new producer, supported by Steve Harris in the role of co-producer.
The song material of βBrave New Worldβ feels more progressive than in earlier albums, which is evident in the longer, multi-part titles like βDream Of Mirrorsβ or βThe Nomadβ. Iron Maiden were thus able to gain many new fans from the progressive metal scene.
