News about newcomers from Italy have not always been a reason to expect avalanche-like changes in the metal scene. Still, with The Dogma, after many years of waiting there seems to be a southern European formation that could cause some stir. Especially the skilful mixture of traditional metal styles, progressive rock influences and some nice atmospheric gothic melodies make this debut album a pure listening pleasure. And with the maturity of “Black Roses”, you would hardly believe it that this is a bunch of very young musicians. There is some Queensrÿche coming through in one moment, then you are reminded of the early Judas Priest in the next only to enjoy some vocals a few moments later that should cause some enchantment in the black scene, too. “Black Roses“ was produced by the German producer legend, Siggi Bemm. Alone this fact shows that The Dogma is considered an important topic by their label. For a good reason because such a great debut album as „Black Roses“ can't be found every day!
