by Markus Eck (22.02.2010) Bruce Kulick is mostly known for being the long-time guitar player for Shock Rock outfit KISS. His versatile guitar skills can be heard on their albums "Asylum", "Crazy nights", "Hot in the shade", "Revenge", and "Carnival of souls". The gifted and consistent American axe man has been a jack of all trades anyway, with (live) stints for Meat Loaf, Michael Bolton, or Grand Funk Railroad and Union, for example. And now, Mr. K presents the international audience with the solo album he has been announcing for some time: down to earth (Hard) Rock, very rough and puristic. He skips the modern stuff and sometimes, you'll even hear distinctly Blues-laden playful parts. So much for the music - vocal-wise, he does the best he can, but to be honest, he won't get a "nightingale of the year" award for his efforts.
