Article description

The songs on "Between Order And Model" are responsible for the fraternisation of hard core kids, punks and metallers at the beginning of the nineties. When 'Funeral For A Friend' released their debut “Between Order And Model” in 2002, a new genre called “Screamo” made its way into the world.

They are at the European forefront: 'Funeral For A Friend' with their double guitars, clean and screamed vocals, a three minute massacre and breathless moments of quiet. All of these things reinforce that the band was in the right place at the right time.

A debut album followed, that defined the genre, and numerous tours. The audience grew, the stadiums became bigger and the band was the next best thing - until they took a breather, because they felt pressured by the people’s expectations.

The band decided to only play small shows and to not let their songs be edited into mainstream-compatible tracks.

“Back To The Roots” might be a cliche, but it’s really what lets the band act more lively and passionate than every before.

The re-release of “Between Order And Model” is contributed via their old friends Boysetfire’s label.

The newly mixed and mastered songs meet three rare and unreleased tracks from the same recording sessions and live versions of the current line ups.

The 12 page booklet includes never seen before pictures from the band’s archive and liner notes by vocalist Matt Davies, Josh Latshaw from Boysetsfire and Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon.
