11.The good times used to kill me
by Manuela Liefländer (01/04) Since Gluecifer realised that they can fill big arenas outside of Scandinavia, too they seem to be wanting to write hits. It has taken some time but their fifth studio album finally shows what they are really capable of. The title track "Automatic Thrill" opens the album and would easily rock a whole stadium. Spiced up with some catchy riffs and an ingenious chorus this songs won't leave anybody Γ¬ siting down, that's for sure. Also tracks like "Take it" with its drums mixed to the front and the guitar-driven chorus point towards the same league. Even more difficult to imagine that this band recorded their album on a farm (?!). Only "Here come the pigs" fits this picture. The Hives or not The Hives, Turbonegro Γ¬ or not Turbonegro - "Automatic Thrill" is the definitely best album of the rock outfit, ever! (Manuela LieflΓ€nder - 04/01)
