With “Alte Schule“, the four Promille are far from one-dimensional Oi! of their early days. “Alte Schule“ is a catchy, quite melodic street punk smasher with great vocals. The five years of break after their last cd have obviously left their marks. With guest instruments, like piano, accordion and organ, the heavy Oi! Sound is additionally loosened up a bit. Still, Vier Promille wouldn't be Vier Promille if they wouldn't deal with the typical topics. So they do, e.g. in “Export“, the ode to the export beer or in the “Harald-Unser“, a tribute to Harald Juhnke with the music of the Pogues. The 13 songs are rounded off by a cover version of the Bonecrusher song, “Porn Star“. The album comes in a great artwork designed by a member of the band, Broilers.
