by Matthias Mineur (09/03) As expected the album of the same name is now followed by "Kiss Symphony" as Γ¬ a visual spectacle. Recorded in Australia in February 2003 this double-DVD Γ¬ shows the American make-up rockers in collaboration with the Melbourne Symphonic Γ¬ Orchestra. Even more than the audio disc, the video documents how spectacular Γ¬ this collaboration was and how pompously it was set to scene. You get Γ¬ pyrotechnics and fire fountains and Gene Simmons spits gallons of (artificial) Γ¬ blood. As usual with current video recordings the fast cuts of the recordings Γ¬ unfortunately provide a slightly hectic effect which is not made up for by the shots Γ¬ of the many euphoric girls lifting their shirts... Beside the pure concert Γ¬ recordings "Kiss Symphony" also features a "Making Of" with the planning and first Γ¬ meetings between Rock musicians and their conductor, intense rehearsals with the Γ¬ orchestra and much more. Quite an interesting view behind the scenes. Γ¬ (Matthias Mineur - 03/10)
