by Oliver Kube (13.06.2008) Songstress Alev Lenz left the gang and has started a solo career - in spite of this, the boys decided to keep the band name under which the Alternative rocksters had won their spurs within the last years - not only in Germany, but also in the US, China and Turkey. The five-piece should even extend this success with its second album because Alexandra Janzen, the new frontwoman, is a genuine prize. Her voice (think of early, more aggressive Alanis Morissette) adds real zest to the more epic tracks "Unique" or "On my own" . As far as style and sound are concerned, the band does not reinvent the wheel with their catchy tracks reminding you of Die Happy with a bit more pep here and there ("Where are you", "Stained lies"). But concerning composition and instrumentation, Alev are playing in a fairly big league - hats off to them for that.
