by Jürgen Tschamler (08.10.2007) Fortunately, tablet junkie, Wyndorf got his act together, otherwise we would have had to do without his new album, "4-way diablo". The twelve new songs have everything you can expect from a new Monster Magnet-album. Depth, melancholic song structures, heavy grooves, unmistakable vocal passages and all of this combined with psychedelic riffs of all sizes. In between, some new sounds and elements that you would never have expected surprise the listener: horns, strings and even Tribal Drum kind of staccatos. In "You're alive", however, the master rocks round and edgy. Here, the pus comes to shove. Interesting are also low tuned groovers, like "Cyclone" and "No vacation", carried by Wyndorf's eccentric voice. One of my favourites on the album is "I'm calling you". The very emotional, slow song is a true ear candy. With this album, Monster Magnet will underpin their status and bring their name back to business. A first class Rock statement.
