10.The Final Step
The 3 years since their last album, "Kokaiinum" were not only used for signing a surprising deal with Roadrunner but also to further enhance their sound. In comparison to its predecessor, "1-800 Vindication" sounds a bit tamer and is settled more in mid-tempo regions. Nevertheless, the Danes can still be filed under death metal and - by the aid of reduced pace - heavy as fuck! The quintet have become more groovy, uses very pointed vocals and don't even hesitate to use short acoustic passages. For the rest, of course, king iron-fist reigns and there wouldn't be anything else that singer Bo Summer would allow. His deep roars kills every idea of sell-out immediately. This is the stuff that headbanger dreams are made of. The casual keyboards support the songs intelligently and are not just loose accessories. The powerful production (Tue Madsen@Antfarm again!) does the rest to make "1-800 Vindication" a must for all death metal fans who love it just powerful, pumping and melodic. (Andreas Reissnauer - September 2004)
