by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (14.04.2008) In the Second World War, father frost and mother Russia were the dream team for death. Where already Napoleon had failed also the criminal habitat expansion plans in the East found their bloody frontiers. At the moment, there is a flood of concept records and lyrics of Dutch Extreme Metal-Bands around the topic Second World War. The all-star-veteran-quartet, Hail Of Bullets integrated the four tracks of their sensational demo released on vinyl meanwhile, too, on their debut album setting the winterβs apocalypse to tone in traditional Death Metal-style. Martin Van Drunens perverse-ingenious voice and the Doom swings surely remind me of Asphyx, the stoic grooves of Massacre and the slow melodies of Bolt Thrower "Nachthexen". The "Inferno at the carpathian mountains" fights with an unusually light harmony, "The crucial offensive" argues with Dismember about the Autopsy-tribute order. Right now the reference for all the rest.
