What makeup do Disney face characters use?

You might have visited a Disneyland in your lifetime – Disneyland Paris or even the mecca of all things Mickey, Disney Orlando. If you did, you likely stumbled upon the actors and actresses who are employed to become the princes, princesses and other Disney favourites for the day. These Disney face characters need to have makeup that can withstand the heat of the likes of California and Florida, and a whole day of smiling and posing for fans. So, just how do they do it?

While some secrets will remain exactly that – a Disney secret – many former Disney park actors and actresses have gone on record with various publications to discuss how they achieve their look. Many of them use specialist stage and visual effects makeup brands, including Ben Nye and or Kryolan Cosmetics. This type of makeup is designed to stand out more – think being able to see it on a stage if you’re sat a few rows back – and it’s also designed to withstand a lot of harsh lights and hot glares.
