Article description

The debut album under a debatable label was already musically outstanding. In 1998, the one-man project represented by the mysterious Vratyas Vakias created this second album with its epic and folky Black Metal and was responsible for open mouthed amazement.

by Frank Stöver (null) Just like the first Falkenbach album "En their medh riki fara", "Magni blandinn ok megint" scintillates the same charming atmosphere. The pieces seem more compact to me and you won't be able to make out the typical Falkenbach style until after one or two songs. But that's exactly what makes the new album so very interesting and multi-layered. Otherwise the typical folk hymns in connection with extreme (black) metal sound dominate the sound which takes away the listener once more to the world of nordic mythology as you can already see in titles like "Balders tod", "Walhall" or "The hethenish". It's another killer ride coming our way!
