Not only is the music a bit more melodic this time around, creating a decidedly evil atmosphere, but eyes and mind get the full deal, too! Because "Holy Murder Masquerade" is a concept album, the story of a young man named Trent. In his sick mind, Trent sees himself as a true servant of God, and heβs about to complete his violent, gory work.
With this album, the listener also becomes the reader. IMPIOUS spared no efforts or money, hiring well-known Italian comic book artist Andrea Cavaletto, who phenomenally illustrated the above mentioned story for the CD booklet.
Watch for IMPIOUS in 2007, as their worldwide fan base is ever growing, a fact documented by tours with AMON AMARTH (twice in Europe) and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER (Japan).

by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (28.12.2006) The Swedish Death / Thrashers make it thrilling and give hardly any information upon the very complex concept. It is neither known if the planned, huge comic booklet was set into music nor what the nature of the storyboard is. The short radio play sequence, "Slaughtertown report" seems to give hints on a mass murderer scenario in a metropolitan. The threatening, slow song provided with background vocals by Lord Belials Thomas Backelin should be identified, however: the deep black, lava-like title track. While the former four albums used to be closed chapters in itself, the new opus is being controlled by an unusual diversity. In a blind test, for some of the grooves ("T.P.S.") and clear vocals ("Bound to bleed"), you could even guess on a Metal Core band bringing in Swedish Death like so many others do in fact. Simply ingenious are the virtuoso acoustic breaks in "Three of one", the Impious-typical Thrash-killer, "Everlasting punishment" and the closing "Dark closure" competing with the best Hypocrisy-hymns.
