by Markus Eck (30.10.2009) The new concept album by W.A.S.P. founder Blackie Lawless deals with the biblical visions of the apocalypse as far as the story is concerned - musicwise, the exceptional talent once again does business as usual (not that there's anything wrong with that!). In W.A.S.P.'s case, that means delivering hefty, yet catchy Hard Rock gems. Of course, this includes the trademark melancholy nostalgic touch - and the epic ballad moments on "Babylon" are among the best of 2009. Blackie has refined his guitar skills emotionally and technically in the course of the years - so he really has become an intuitive player... You'll also find an awesome cover version of the Deep Purple classic "Burn" on the album - Lawless always has wanted to record that for a long time. "Babylon" is yet another milestone in the history of this band.
