Akani-Through My Darkest Infernal
This is what you get when you cross Scandinavian metal with NYC hardcore heavy slabs of metal infused hardcore. Jorge Rosado from Merauder adds the hardcore edge while Anders Lowgren on drums Daniel Cederborg and Daniel Antonsson from Soilwork add the metal and metal it is heavy dark and tribal. Fourteen solid tracks that range from slow doom to thrashy numbers with heavy breakdowns. This version also includes the ep featuring Anders Bjorler from The Haunted. Diverse influences here that are well combined to make a very catchy and memorable record. Two thumbs up from me. Stand out tracks for me are Temple of Lies and I Won't Run.

Revocation Great Is Our Sin
Five full length albums in and Revocation still deliver top drawer material. They have hardly put a foot wrong in their mix of thrashy death metal. The latest offering from Bostons finest is another technically impressive collection of tunes. On every release they seem to push the boundaries and bring elements of thrash death and rock to their particular style. Always able to throw a curve ball and this is evident on Cleaving Giants Of Ice a standout track indeed. A nod to the kings of thrash Slayer on a cover of Altar Of Sacrifice rounds off what is again a strong well produced record.

Savatage Hall of The Mountain King
Absolute classic record. That could pretty much sum up this fantastic 80s release. The Olivia brothers at their best as far as I am concerned. Songwriting musicianship and a strong production make this a masterpiece that not many bands could ever dream of getting close too. Not one filler track on the entire album. Chris Olivia and his distinctive tone in his finest performance make this record flawless and a must for any heavy music fan.
