Misfits are welcome here. Bad ‘fits, on the other hand, are not…
Fortunately for all the wannabe outcasts and rebels, we’ve got enough Misfits t-shirts to keep you standing out and staying true to you wherever you’re heading.
To quickly get you up to speed on just who the Misfits are – and just why they’re a band to rock proudly on your new t-shirt - they are quite literally punk royalty. Pioneers in the horror punk subgenre, The Misfits blended punk and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery. Horror Punk typically consisted of violent imagery and lyrics, and was clearly influenced by horror films and science fiction B-movies. Musically, the Misfits could sometimes overlap with the likes of death rock, and horror punk also tends to be influenced heavily by the 1950s Doo-Wop and Rockabilly sound.
Crafting this bold sound and pairing it with striking imagery and high intensity live shows, The Misfits were a success right from their debut in the 1970s. Despite going through a few line-up changes, the band put out a steady stream of releases including albums like Walk Among Us, Evilive and the Beware EP.
The Misfits first disbanded in 1983, with Glenn Danzig going on to form Samhain and then Danzig – bands who would go on to become iconic across metal subgenres in their own right. However, all was not lost with the Misfits. Several albums of reissued and previously unreleased material were issued after the group's dissolution, which would become pivotal in shaping new bands and styles across punk rock, heavy metal, and alternative rock.
Some of the original members of the Misfits did later reform with a new version of the band in 1995, this time featuring singer Michale Graves and drummer Dr. Chud. This incarnation of Misfits had more of a heavy metal sound, and released the albums American Psycho (1997) and Famous Monsters (1999).
As pioneers of horror punk, the Misfits found a way to standout from an already shocking and attention-grabbing genre of music, so we decided we needed the Misfits t-shirts that will help you stand out the same way. Our collection of Misfits tops and tees are inspired by the grim, gruesome and ghoulish visuals perfected by the band during their many eras. The famous skull is used across different t-shirts, for a t-shirt with unforgettable impact.
Misfits we might be, but that doesn’t mean anyone gets excluded here. Whatever your gender identity, body shape or size, our t-shirts come in a wide range of inclusive sizes and styles.
