Doesn't everybody hope that on their next plane trip, they will be contaminated with radiation in a way that they gain mutant superpowers? Then you would become a true X-Man and one of the coolest genetically altered freaks ever since. In fact, the likeable X-Men mutants have been around since the 1960s, but the large majority only got to know them through the great movie adaptations of the 2000s. Back in the day, it all began with Charles Xavier, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Beast and Angel, the original X-Men so to say. Many more cool characters were to follow: Nightcrawler, Storm and of course the most popular comic hero of all time: Wolverine! From the first movie on, he has been played by charismatic actor Hugh Jackman. He may not appear in the new movie X-Men: Apocalypse, but there are many other familiar faces like Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender) or Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). Now the X-Men must face the oldest of all mutants: Apocalypse, who is roused from a thousand-year sleep. While we may be grumpy if somebody wakes us, Apocalypse goes on an all-out rampage. Unfortunately, he is not only the world's oldest, but also the most powerful mutant, and his biggest strength is his ability to manipulate weak minds so that they side with him.
