Punk rock meets Irish folk.
Everything started in 1997 at Molly Malone's - a pub in Los Angeles. Singer and guitarist Dave King played regularly at the pub and was eventually joined by other musicians, forming a band - Flogging Molly. The combination of guitar, bass and drums with traditional Irish instruments such as the fiddle, mandolin and accordion gave rise to a mixture of folklore and punk rock - also known as Celtic punk. A series of shows and albums followed, making Flogging Molly ever more well known outside of California.
The mega hit "Drunken Lullabies"With their album "Drunken Lullabies" and the accompanying single, they made a real name for themselves. The follow-up "Within a mile of home" easily kept pace with their previous successes. "Float" and "Speed of darkness followed, proving that Flogging Molly can still make great music. Their live shows stand out for their unique brand of loud, danceable folk punk. Now and then however, the Americans show their Irish roots in a softer way.
The 7-piece band is a regular at festivals and concerts worldwide, where they really know how to get the party started. The appropriate merch in the EMP Flogging Molly online shop is simply the icing on the cake. Have fun browsing!
