The EP "The bell witch" was a second helping of the comeback, but "Time" followed not much later in 1994. Mercyful Fate pulled out all the stops in order to increase the occult atmosphere of their compositions. The oriental sound of "The mad arab" causes goose bumps.

Very Underrated album

This was the first metal album I have ever heard and it totally changed my life. nightmare be thy name is a masterpiece.
Unfortunately this is a very underrated album. It is almost as good as Melissa or DBTO, but it's always put aside by metal fans.

Anywany, by songs, this is a very short review:
Nightmare be thy name - Masterpiece 5/5
Angel of Light - Great falsettos at the begining 4/5
Witche's Dance - great harmony and solos 5/5
The mad arab - not much into it, but great lyrics 3/5
My demon - MEET MY DEEEEEEMOOOON!!!! 5/5
Time - I have the chorus tattooed on my arm. Can't say anymore 5/5
The preacher - Maybe the song I like less 3/5
Lady in Black - awesome song 4/5
Mirror - 4/5
The afterlife - Quite different. 4/5
Castillo del Mortes - Best lyrics from the album. Great song 5/5
