Queen’s meteoric rise in the 1970s has been well documented. From their impressively ambitious eponymous debut album in 1973 to “A night at the opera 1975”, the album that finally catapulted them to megastardom, and beyond - this band always followed their own unique path. Between February 1973 and October 1977, Queen recorded six radio sessions exclusively for the BBC. The 24 musical milestones presented in these sessions include alternative versions of the debut single, unique recordings of legendary album tracks, and even a highly adapted version of one of their best known anthems, not previously released on any studio album. This brand new collection “Queen on air” brings all six of Queen’s BBC sessions together for the first time. Queen’s sound engineer Kris Frederiksson has lovingly restored the recordings, which have been mastered by Grammy Award winner Adam Ayan. "Queen on air" is much more than simply a collection of rare recordings - it offers an enticing insight into the development and ascendance of a legendary band.
