Frosttide are yet another band from Finland, a country that seems to have an endless production line of fantastic bands.
The best way to describe Frosttide would be melodic death with a heavy emphasis on keyboards and orchestral sounds.
But that's not to say that 'Blood Oath' does not get you headbanging, because it certainly does.
This is their second album, the first I am yet to hear (although I bought it at the same time as this one) the sound is full, rich, epic and in your face.
With only 6 full songs, plus two shorter instrumentals, Frosttide make every moment count. Bands such as Wintersun and Children Of Bodom come to mind, with influences that thankfully are just that.
This version also adds two amazing covers, that push me over the line to give a full 5 stars. Those being a far heavier than original 'Apache' and a totally mazing version of 'One Night In Bangkok' written by the two Abba gentleman. One of my fave pop songs, but this version is just as good, but nothing like the original, except the melody in the chorus.
