I'm a Heavy Metal Maniac (all we are)

This is the band's first album originally released in 1983. What we have here is a mix of Motörhead, Black Sabbath and NWOBHM (from fast bands like Raven).

The album opens with "The Holocaust," a short and somber introduction with a hurricane-like sound that soon gives way to one of Exciter's greatest classics: "Stand Up and Fight", with lots of energy, sticky chorus, And it's amazing how Dan Beehler manages to yell and (literally) beat up his drums at the same time.

In the sequel, we have "Heavy Metal Maniac", the title track, also an eternal classic with a fast and destructive melody. It's impossible not to sing the chorus "I'm Heavy Metal Maniac!" Next, we come across a parade of classics like "Iron Dogs", "Mistress of Evil", "Under Attack" (one of the fastest) and "Rising of the Dead". The band only gives a truce with "Blackwitch", a beautiful ballad but with an excellent dose of weight for nobody to fault. To close the work, comes "Cry of the Banshee", further devastating our poor necks (or what is left of them).

And in this CD edition, we still have 2 bonus tracks: "World War III" and "Evil Sinner", plus 3 interviews with the band.

Exciter showed on this album that it does not take much to produce a classic heavy metal album, just talent, energy and creativity.
